Pimp My Ride

Chase's pinewood derby was sweet! We had so much fun designing his car. Pimp my ride is his favorite show so naturally he wanted to make a pimp my ride car. He wanted it purple with a hot tub with people in it. Then I had the idea to add music to it so we got a speaker from Build a Bear and we recorded the Pimp My Ride theme song on it. It was so sweet. So his car actually sang "If you wanna be a player, but your wheels aint fly. You better get on up, and get a pimped out ride!" I guarantee it was the first Pimp My Ride car in pinewood derby history. So one of his wheels busted off before the race and I had to glue it on real quick so I didn't think his car would do well cause I didn't know how to weight it properly or balance the tires, but he actually came in 2nd place every race. He even came in 1st place twice against a car that Geoff had specially done. He had such a blast!

Caden's Special Day

Today was Caden's special day (one day a week the boys get to plan a fun special day - today was Caden's turn). First, we went to Shannon's and Caden got a spiffy new haircut. Shannon told him to get some fast running shoes cause all the girls will be chasing him! Then we went to Costco and he got Night at the Museum. Next, we picked up Chase and went bowling. They had a blast! The lady that worked there was impressed with their skills. Chase of course had his own style and bowled with his iPod. He would wait until his song got to a specific part before he would throw the ball. Now we are off to Caden's soccer game, then on to weigh in Chase's pinewood derby car, and then to get Chase's hair cut. I swear the days just fly by. There is never enough time!

Go Warriors!

Today is a momentous day in the Granum household. After 13 years of ridicule and heartbreak, Geoff FINALLY gets to see his team play in the playoffs. They barely made it in the 8th seed in the Western Conference. They play Dallas, the best team in the league. So there's a good chance that they will lose 4 straight games, but Geoffrey is excited nonetheless. So lets root for the Warriors - you never know what might happen!

Tatoo Boys

OK - I don't know about the rest of you, but when my boys are quiet for like an hour it is generally not because they're being angels reading in their room. In tonights case the silence was due to a tatoo parlor Chase opened up in their bathroom. They are both covered in body paint. My favorite tats of Chase's are a big red circle on his chest that says I AM SEXY and a lightning bolt on his bicept that says BIG. Caden pretty much just scribbled all over himself and then Chase drew a skull on his back. They are so proud of themselves so I just made them put shirts on and now we're off to dinner. Hopefully they will let me give them a bath tonight! What can you do? Boys will be boys. At least it wasn't with markers!

Legacy Pool

It has been a crazy busy week. I can't even remember Monday, it seems so long ago. Tuesday, Geoff flew to San Diego for just a few hours to look at a development project there. (He is thinking of opening an office out there) So the boys and I had a fun date night together. It was Chase's pick so we went to Color Me Mine, IHOP for dinner (gross), Barnes and Noble, and then Cold Stone. Wednesday, KSL News came to our house to shoot some video footage for a commercial for the parade of homes (May 12-26 I think. Geoff's home is in Stonegate - come visit him!) and Shannon and I took the kids to BYU for dinner and then a tour of their radio/news facility for Scouts. Yesterday, Shannon made me pull Chase out of school early to go to the Legacy pool with her and her kids since Boston is on Spring Break. It was ghetto but the kids had a blast. Hayes was such a stinker when I was trying to take his picture! He would not look at me! He is precious though! Chaser need a fun day yesterday because he found out at school that he did not make it into the Math Bowl. The top 3 kids from each class get to go and he was one of the favorites to make it because he is so dang smart at Math. The first 3 kids to finish their test make it in and Chase finished 2nd so he totally thought he made it, but he missed a question about clocks! So he didn't make it cause you had to get 100%. He was REALLY disappointed. Maybe next year! We still are so proud of him and think that he is such a smarty pants. He can totally carry and borrow in his head, a skill that is hard for adults to do!

Weekend of Fun!

I feel like it's been forever since I've blogged! It was a busy weekend but lots of fun. Here are the highlights:
Friday - We went to see the movie Redline (stupid plot, terrible acting, but if your husband is a car fanatic, he will love it!) and the Ruths Chris (great food but terrible service this weekend)
Saturday - Caden's soccer game (he scored a goal and they won 5-4!)
Chase's soccer game (he scored a goal and they won like 10-1!)
KJ's Birthday Party (so much fun! They made their own potato cars and had races!)
Sunday - Church (I had to change my outfit once and Crew's outfit 3 times! Don't even ask - it was just one of those days)
Riverside Brunch
About 4 hours of Lego building (picture included so our work can be admired before it is totally destroyed!)
For any of you who have built Legos with their kids before you will appreciate all the hard work and patience that went into building that submarine!

Brett Man!

Where in the world is this kid? It looks more like the Bayous of Louisianna than Texas! For those of you who don't know, Geoff's youngest brother, Brett is serving a mission for our Church in Houston, Texas. Brett sent home 3 disks full of pictures. I posted about 50 or so of them on our SmugMug site. Good job, BrettMan! We miss you and love you tons!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Geoff gave Crew his first real haircut tonight. We had talked about doing it for a couple of weeks because his hair is falling out and it looked sort of patchy. So tonight I asked Geoff to take Crew while I did the dishes and he buzzed his head! I was surprised but he looks cute. The picture isn't the best cause we're tired, but hopefully it's good enough to see his hair, or lack of I should say!

Gymnastics Buddies!

Caden and his little buddy, KJ, have gymnastics every week. This was the first time I have gone since having Crew. They were so darn cute! They ran around everywhere together. Isn't it nice to have friends?!

Caden and KJ hiding from their teacher!

Crew was a bit of a distraction. KJ kept running over and talking to him.

Happy Easter!

Cookie Bouquet from Grandma Gayle

Some of Crew's presents from Grandma Katie and Papa Bob

We had a great Easter! Crew gave me the best present ever and slept from 10-7! The boys got up shortly thereafter and we had our baskets and then headed outside for the egg hunt. The end count was Chase 35, Caden 13! We tried to help Caden out but he just wasn't fast enough. The we went to Riverside for a fabulous Easter brunch. Too bad I'm on a diet - I could have gone crazy! For those of you keeping track, my fasting cleanse in now over. I lost 7 pounds and I'm so glad I did it. I feel great and really healthy so I recommend it, but the first couple of days are really hard!

Easter Party

We had such a fun day today! First we painted easter eggs and then went to a party at the Higginsons. They had a BBQ and a huge egg hunt for all the kids. Then they had duck races in their water feature. There were about 70 ducks with numbers on them and everyone at the party chose a number. Out of everyone there, Caden won first place, Chase won second, and Shannon won third. Can you believe it! I love our neighborhood!

Ready for the hunt!

Chase got SO much! He's either really fast or really good at finding things.

Crew just chillin. Isn't he getting big?

The duck race!

The winners of the race!

The Zoo!

We had a great day today at the zoo! I was actually surprised at how clean it was and there are a few new exhibits that are pretty cool. All of the shows don't start until Memorial Weekend so there wasn't much action going on but it was still fun. Chase and Caden must have thanked me 20 times for their "wonderful day". Crew slept through most of the animal exhibits but woke up for the train ride. His eyes were wide open, trying to take everything in.
For those of you who are wondering, yes, I am still on my fast and, yes, I am still STARVING! I can't believe I have three days left of this! It better be worth it!

I'm Hungry!

OK - So Shannon has me talked into doing this 5 day fasting cleanse. Today is day 1 and it's already not going so fine. I am hungry and this fiber stuff you have to drink is NASTY! But it's supposed to be really healthy for your body so I'm really going to try to make it. Apparently it's good for your kidneys, liver, etc. and Shannon swears it made her eyes bluer, but girls, let's be honest. I'm trying this to get SKINNY! So it really better help to kick start my diet so I can get this body back into pre-pregnancy shape again! Wish me luck!

Lame Ending!

OK - so how lame was the ending of The Hills? What happened to Heidi? I missed the first part of the after show. I need to know more. I want to see what Heidi and Spencer are like together and if he burns her after she left her friends for him! I betcha he will. He is such a player! Will there be another season? Who knows the gossip. Comment please if you do!

How Cute Is This?

His Easter Basket to me with a bunch of cool artwork, a lei, and a paper bunny with candy he found around the house!

How cute is this? Chase has been working on artwork all weekend and now I find out it's for an easter basket he was making for me. He said I'm the bestest, most beutiful mommy in the whole world! He also said that he is saving his money so he can buy me a boufet (I guess that's a mix between bouquet and buffet!) of flowers! Isn't he the sweetest thing in the whole world? OK - so now he is running around the house, making messes everywhere, pumping his tunes so loud, and occasionally making Caden cry, but for about 10 minutes he was perfect! As moms, don't we just live for those moments of perfection?!

Loving Conference

I am loving conference! What wonderful talks we have heard on forgiveness, family unity, the truthfulness of the Bible, and the testimonies of the Church leaders on the truthfulness of the restoration of the gospel. Doesn't it just make you want to be a better person and share the message of Christ with all those around you? A little preachy for a blog spot, I know, but it's OK. I don't do this often. For those of you who may just happen upon this blog spot, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church! It is not a made up religion, but rather the restoration of the Church that existed on the earth in the time of Christ. Seek the truth, have faith in the living Christ, and love all mankind! Have a great day!
