Maui Film Festival

We were so excited for the Maui Film Festival - one of our favorite events of the year. We saw several great independent films under the beautiful night skies.

The first night we saw Castles in the Sky,

Birthright (an inspiring short film about a handicapped mans' struggle to surf),

and the Butterfly Circus (another inspiring short).

The next night we saw Hana Surf Girls (good documentary, fun because it is about a small Maui community, but a little too long)

Last night we saw Boy (NOT appropriate for kids! We took the kids to play on the putting range during this one. I was really excited to see it too because it was about a Maori kid.)

Stones (about Hawaii legend)

And The Watermen Experience (my favorite!)

Zac Efron!

How cool is this? We were at the Cafe at the Kea Lani and in walks Zac Efron! Luckily I had my little camera in my backpack and was able to snap a quick picture with him. He was super nice and super cute. Thanks Zac!

Pohai Na Keiki Nalu Surf Meet

My boys entered their first body boarding competition today! It was so much fun!
A long day - 7 hours- but worth it. It was an amazing, totally free, event.
The kids all got free tshirts, candy, and ice cream sundaes.
Geoff getting Caden ready for his first heat. The boys were a bit nervous for their first time - just to know where to go, which break to go to, what the different horns were for, etc.

Their first heats were at the same time, but on different breaks.
Luckily we could see them both but it was difficult to video tape them.
Caden (orange shirt) did amazing! He read the waves good all day and positioned himself well. He couldn't do all the fancy tricks the other kids were but he caught some great waves and pulled some tricks of his own. He kept advancing throughout the day which made it exciting for him but........
...rough on Chase. Chase got intimidated by the other kids and was off his game today.
He got out the first round which made the day REALLY long for him as he watched us all cheer Caden on.
Caden had to pass 3 heats to make it to the finals. In the finals, he was bodyboarding with the top 6 kids 9 years old and younger. They all ripped! We were proud of both boys for trying and participating.

Caden ended the day 4th Place OVERALL!
He got a cool trophy which is proudly sitting on his nightstand tonight! :)

Soccer Camp

The kids just got done with a week long soccer camp at Seabury Hall. They had a blast!
Chase and Bri were on team Spain. Everytime I went to camp, Chase was hanging out with Bri and all her girlfriends. :)

Caden and Dub were on team England. We pretended that Dub was 8 so they could be together.

Team Spain won the pineapple cup for their division. Chase had a goal in the first game and Bri had 2 goals in the championship game! Whoo - Hoo!

Team England lost in an overtime shoot out of the championship game. Heartbreak!
Dub got the MVP medal for his age group (actually - he's 7 and he got the MVP for the 8 year olds!)
