F.E.A.T. Auction

As most of you know, this is my beautiful sister, Ali and her two wonderful boys. Ali is helping to host the F.E.A.T. (Families for Early Autism Treatment) charity drive this year. I'm a little late in getting notice out for this but I will be sending some boxes out to her by Wednesday of this week for Silent Auction baskets for the event. Any items that you would like to donate can either be sent with my basket stuff (I am doing a Wii basket, scrapbook basket, and maybe arts and crafts, but any items you can think of would be great!) or sent directly to Ali. I also have all the tax forms for tax deductions. Thanks for your support!

Easter Celebration!

We had such a great easter! The boys were of course excited for their baskets of goodies and toys but they both really look forward to the egg hunts the best. We had one egg hunt in the morning from the easter bunny and then another one at the Granums later.

We had a real feast at the Granums. Everything was delicious and the table was decorated so cute. When I asked my boys what their favorite part of easter was they said (I forget which one said it) "mainly just hanging out with family".

Kate and Caden play so well together.

Crew actually understood that he was supposed to pick up eggs and put them in his bag. It took him forever, but he was proud of himself.

Chase LOVES any kind of scavenger hunt!

Kelli's Baby Shower!

Crew and I went to California for just a day and a half for Kelli's baby shower. It was so cute and fun to see everyone. Her sister-in-law, Sarah hosted and her house was just beautiful and all decorated for easter. Kelli got SO many presents. Makenzie has lots of outfits and books! Mainly it was just fun to see Kelli's cute belly and to share in the anticipation of her first child. Oh, and I totally won the shower game but it was a little unfair because it was questions about she and Bryan and lots of people there don't know Bryan very well. So even though I had an unfair advantage, it didn't keep me from accepting the prize!

Crew tried to be good but he was a total party crasher. He hadn't had a nap ALL day and then fell asleep on the way to the shower. Needless to say, he was not excited to be at a party with a bunch of chatty women. You'd think the constant hands in the mouth and crankiness would have been a clue to me that he was teething! I thought he was just fussy from no nap. He has a fever today so I checked his mouth and he has 2 more molers coming in. He'll have 12 teeth now!

Crew's favorite part of the trip was playing with Grandma's cat, Roxy! This used to be Kierstin's cat until they found out that Lauren was allergic and had to give it away. I usually don't like cats, I'm a dog person, but this cat is SO cool. She loves people and even played with Crew! He LOVED her!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St Patrick's Day to my 4 Irish boys! We had green eggs, green pancakes, and green milk for breakfast. Sounds gross, but they ate most of it. The Leprechauns visited this afternoon and hid some treats for them to find when they get home from school!

Sunday Fun

These are my favorite days. Just hanging out with my boys and enjoying each others company. Our boys have gotten so much use out of this little basketball area. It is probably the most used space in the whole house! I'll be so sad when they outgrow it. Crew LOVES the car game. He wants to play it all day long. I just love having our big crazy fun room where we can all play together!

Future Scientists

The Science Fair is over - yeah! I, of course, got myself in over my head trying to teach my child something important, clean power. While the attempt was noble, it was way too much work for a second grade science fair project. We hooked his bike to a stand, hooked a generator up to the stand and then plugged it into a battery to store the power he could make by riding his bike. I won't torture everyone with the boring details but is was actually a lot of work. Let's just say that I learned ALOT about proper wiring, electrical currents, voltage, amps, watts, etc. Once the project was set up, Chase had fun making his own power and actually learned quite a bit about the effects of pollution and the need for alternative power sources.Chase's Project - Lean and Green

Chase presenting to his class. All the kids got to ride his bike and generate power. They loved it!

Chase demonstrating at home.

Caden and his teacher. They did a class project together (thank goodness). They learned all about seeds, roots, and plants and did several different experiments with them. It was really cute.

I am always impressed with how many smart kids go to their school. There were so many fun, unique and interesting projects. I love it when children are inspired to learn and discover.

Geoff's Hole

As most of you know, Geoff was in a snowmobiling accident on Friday - or as he would say "it wasn't even an accident, I totally landed the jump and rode out of it. I just smacked my head." Well, "I just smacked my head" was quite an understatement. He actually crushed a hole in his skull the size of a raquetball! (Look to the left middle of his lower forehead for the dent) Amazingly, the bone damage was the only thing he suffered. No pain, no concusion, nothing else! He had surgery that night (3 small plates and 8 screws with just minor incisions on his forehead and scalp) and walked out of the hospital 2 hours later. Who walks out of the hospital after and hour and a half long surgery on their skull? Seriously amazing! He is healing well, bruising and swelling the only issues. We go back to the doctor on Friday and I will be able to post photos of the surgery and the MRI. So for all you faint of heart, be prepared. I won't post anything too disgusting. So I said that sometimes he needs these accidents to show him that he really isn't Superman but he is healing so well and so quickly that even I am starting to believe that he really is!

Proud Wife

Tonight we went to an award banquet for the Utah Valley 50. It was for the top 25 fasted growing companies in Utah, the top 15 revenue companies, and the top 10 start-ups. Geoff's company, Silver Creek, was #1 for fastest growing and #14 for revenue producers. He got a plaque for the revenue producer and then a super cool Q statue for the #1 fastest growing. I am always impressed how in a huge room of big name people, everyone knows Geoff! I am so proud of what he has done with his company. He works so hard and has unbelievable vision and business savvy. Tonights function was catered by Tucanos, had a really funny impersonater, a video of some of the winners (Geoff was one of the main people they filmed - he was of course embarrassed to watch it with everyone!) and then the presentation of awards. They also had a professional photographer there. It was really well done. I was pleasantly surprised! Good job, honey!
