Man VS Wild!

Last week, Chase and I got in a bit of an "argument" which resulted in him going in the backyard and building himself a shelter. It was perfect because it kept him outside of 2 hours creating and getting some energy out and I couldn't help but laugh at him, even though I was mad. He started with an A-frame shelter ancored in a hole in one of our trees. That was just going OK, then daddy came home and helped him with this teepee shelter. He collected leaves for bedding and came in so excited to show me. Now he says he has a place to "be by himself" when he's in a bad mood. He is so cute and creative - I can never stay mad at him for very long.

He's so cute. I love that he went outside to build him a place where he can be alone! It looks great, he did such a good job :)

Sorry this made me laugh :-) VERY good shelter, I am impressed. Now...what did he do or what was the argument about? I need the dirt :-) I love Chase, he is such a great kid!

I had made the kids special Halloween grilled cheese sandwiches in the shapes of bats, ghosts, pumpkins and he was SO mad at me cause he wanted a friend to come over after school and I said no. We ALWAYS have friends over and I just wanted a day with my boys. It just blew up into a huge argument cause I had tried to make it a fun day and he was just in a mood. So there's the dirt!

Thanks for the dirt Jenn :-) That is SO Kate too and actually a conversation we had on the way home from school yesterday. She begged and complained for a friend to come over and I told her no-because I wanted to spend time with her for once...so I totally feel you and FINALLY understand where my parents were coming from...amazing how much makes sense when you are a parent isn't it?? Love you!!

that is pretty dang good!! Way to go Chaser, you may have your own show soon!
It must be the age of always wanting friends to play over.
So can Boston come over today? hehe
Seriously!

Great job on the teepee! I don't think I was ever that creative! Glad he had an outlet and he was over your fight and excited to show you by the time he was done. He IS a sweet kid, even though he can be a stinker to you sometimes. And, isn't that what we hope for in our kids, that they are good to everyone else (even if it means we get the shaft sometimes)? I know still to this day, I am the hardest on Mom and that's because I know her love is unconditional and I can feel free to vent and be mad at her because I know we love each other and it will all blow over eventually.
