4th of July

The 4th of July this year was not quite what we were expecting. Usually, the Grand Wailea has a huge party, bbq, and fireworks on the beach. But they cancelled it because too many of the neighboring residents complained. So Lahaina was the only place on the island that was doing anything. It was still fun, but not the same.
All of front street was closed to traffic so you could do fireworks anywhere. We created quite a crowd and embarrassed our daddy by just stopping to do some fireworks while we waited for the show.

My crazy Chase!

The fireworks were right off the harbor and there was a band playing music in the park right next to us. There was one guy in the water surfing under the fireworks. It looked really cool but I couldn't get a picture of him because of the crowds.

Roxy mentioned your big fireworks were cancelled, she can't wait to tease you since "life is so tough...in Hawaii" hehe.

But, it seems you made the best of it and still got to enjoy great fireworks! We miss you guys, too. Is that Geoff in the Hawaiian-print shirt behind Chase in one picture? I'm loving that shirt! ha!

I can't believe they cancelled their big Shin dig!
Looks like you found somewhere to go though. I can totally picture Geoff being totally embarressed about the kids doing fireworks. haha
Way to go Chaser!!
We are missing you guys...HURRY HOME!!

Crazy Chase is right! I don't know if I would let Crazy #1, #2, #3, or #4 (Geoff) wield fireworks! I'm glad you were able to still find some fun in the day, even though nothing was as expected. Kisses to my boys!

I can't believe Wailea can't do a big 4th of July thing anymore, that was the best! Your night still looks fun though!

Ooh, the picture of the surfer under the night sky with fireworks would have made an awesome painting!
